Just some confusion about flexion of the head ... does this mean lateral flexion because non of the muscles named cause flexion alone? and if it was lateral flexion would it be in the coronal plane?
Head flexed due to pillow, shoulders on bed and thoracic spine. Although due to the curvature shape of the lumbar spine (lordotic) it is slightly off the bed.
PHASE 2: Head flexes further (saggital), rotation (transverse) and is then placed back on pillow and for this to happen, head & neck is laterally flexed (saggital), muscles working eccentrically for head to lower.
Thanks
Steph :)

No not lateral flexion.if your head is on pillow it is naturally anteriorly flexed so say bringing your chin towards ur chest.so it is in sagittal plane.that make sense??
yeahhh thts good .. found the muscles too :) thankyouu :D
